CROWNS AND BRIDGEWORK ARE THE SOLUTIONS FOR MAJOR DENTAL PROBLEMS
Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme and apparently beyond repair, Smile Relections can use cosmetic porcelain crowns, otherwise known as “caps”, to make the smile appear like new. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems—it is typical for these treatments to last for a long time, 10 plus years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.
FITTING A CROWN
Depending on the damage or if composite bonding and veneers are not possible options, crowns are the next best thing. Fitting a crown require at least two visits to Smile Reflections’ office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal. We will advise you on how long you could use the temporary crown and dental hygiene you should take. In case anesthesia is to be used, our staff will discuss with you the processes and options suited to your needs.
On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown, then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a new beautiful looking tooth. The Smile Reflections staff will also provide you with the basic information on caring for your restoration such as:
- Brushing your teeth after meals
- Avoid chewing hard food or solid objects
- No biting or chewing of fingernails
KEY BENEFITS OF DENTAL CROWNS

CAPABILITIES OF CROWNS
Crowns (caps) and bridgework are very reliable solutions for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns, and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.
